VILLAGESTripotamo CHURCH OF SAINT DIMITRIS There are two churches in Tripotamo: the red and white Church of Saint Dimitris in the village and a tangerine church said to "give-life" on the outskirts. In sharp contrast to the decaying structures around it, the Church of Saint Dimitris is well maintained. It has a dome and a roof cast from concrete into three arched sections. These are echoed in the flame coloured roof of the forecourt. A covered forecourt is a statement that the church does not exist to reject the world, but rather to flow out into the world and transfigure it. For worshippers, it is a place to pause and hear a little chanting before entering.
